The 10th edition brought together around 50 teams from 31 universities and 25 nations across Energy, Solar and Open Sea Class. HSH Prince Albert II called it “living proof [that] must replace all the promises.” UniBoAT, from the University of Bologna, claimed a third consecutive Energy Class title, Sunflare Team Veolia continued to dominate Solar Class, and TU Delft Hydromotion Team (Netherlands) was the overall Open Sea Class winner. A life-cycle focus

More hydrogen, recycled materials, biomaterials and supercapacitors this year. For the same energy as 1 litre of diesel, the best Energy Class boat travelled 27 nautical miles in 4 hours.

Speed record: 34.71 knots

Performance Marine, powered by an Evoy outboard, set a new outright MEBC speed record — a mark that stood until 2024.

UniBoAT's 3rd consecutive win

UniBoAT topped the Energy Class for the third year running with its multi-hybrid boat ‘Futura’ — battery, hydrogen and solar combined.

Corporate Mentoring Program launched

Oceanco mentored Néréides – UTT Marine (Energy Class), supplying a fuel cell and technical support throughout the project.

The 10th edition put a spotlight on full life-cycle thinking: a new assessment tool, built with Marine Shift 360, let teams measure their boat’s environmental footprint from design to end of life. UniBoAT’s multi-hybrid ‘Futura’ — combining batteries, hydrogen tanks and solar panels with a stereo-vision autonomous-driving system — captured the technical ambition of the year, alongside the first Corporate Mentoring Program pairing industry shipyards directly with student teams year-round.
