The Open Sea Xperience brings production-ready electric and hybrid boats from the industry to Monaco. Builders, shipyards and propulsion innovators take their market boats — tenders, RIBs, yachts and performance craft — into real open-water conditions.
Unlike the student classes, the Open Sea Xperience showcases market-ready boats from companies and shipyards. Electric and hybrid tenders, RIBs, yachts and high-performance craft are put to the test in real open-water conditions — a live demonstration of the future of sustainable leisure and commercial boating.
FRAUSCHER x PORSCHE — le 790 SPECTRE
The Open Sea Xperience is built around real-world sea trials rather than a classic championship. After technical checks, the boats take part in an open-water rally, a manoeuvrability course, the YCM Speed Record and a 16-nautical-mile endurance run demonstrating range, efficiency and reliability in genuine conditions, and closing with the Open Sea Sundowner.
A briefing then an open-water rally through the bay — the boats’ first run in real sea conditions, shared with the SeaLab Class.
A precision-handling course in the harbour, judged on agility, control and the responsiveness of each electric drivetrain.
The signature speed run: boats chase the fastest pass over the measured course in Port Hercule.
A long-distance endurance run testing range, energy management and real-world reliability — followed by the Open Sea Sundowner Cocktail.
Production electric and hybrid boats from leading builders and propulsion specialists across the world.
Builders and propulsion specialists: enter your electric or hybrid boat in the Open Sea Xperience, 29 June – 3 July 2027.
